Life Is Beta

Privacy Policy

Last updated September 2026.

Life Is Beta is a personal site run by Jesse Haynes. This policy explains what we collect, why, and who else sees it. The short version: we collect what it takes to run the site and ship your order, and we do not sell any of it.

What We Collect

  • Orders. Your name, email, shipping address, phone (optional), what you bought, and payment status. We keep this for as long as we need it for records, support, and tax purposes.
  • Payments. Card details go directly to Stripe. We receive a confirmation and the last four digits at most; we never see or store your full card number.
  • Account. If you sign in, we store your email and a short-lived sign-in token. There are no passwords.
  • Contact form and newsletter. What you send us, and your email if you subscribe (the newsletter is run through beehiiv).
  • Site analytics. Standard, aggregated page-view data to see what people read. Affiliate links on the gear pages are tracked by count only.

Who We Share It With

  • Printful prints and ships merch orders, so they receive your name, address, email, phone, and the items ordered.
  • Stripe processes payments and handles fraud checks and sales tax calculation.
  • The shipping carrier gets your address and, if provided, your phone number for delivery.
  • Our email provider delivers order and sign-in emails.

That is the list. We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers.

Cookies and Local Storage

Your shopping cart is stored in your browser, not on our servers, until you check out. Signing in sets a standard session cookie. We do not use advertising cookies.

Emails

Placing an order means we will email you about that order: confirmation, shipping, and anything that goes wrong with it. Those are transactional and cannot be opted out of while an order is open. Newsletter emails are separate and have an unsubscribe link.

Your Choices

You can ask us to show you, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you. Reply to any email from us or use the contact page. We may need to keep order records we are legally required to retain.

Children

The shop is not intended for anyone under 16 and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will update the date at the top. Continued use of the site after that means the new version applies.
